LIGUE 1: NEYMAR LEADS SCORING CHART

Brazilian star Neymar is leading the goalscoring chart in the French Ligue 1 this season after netting five times in three games. Neymar and PSG have been dominant in the French top flight this season and they are on the right path in the quest to retain their league title. PSG had won the French Ligue 1 title last season after finishing ahead of the likes of Marseille, Monaco and OGC Nice convincingly.

Neymar has scored seven goals for PSG in all competitions including five goals in the league. The former Barcelona and Santos attacker scored twice for PSG in the 4-0 win over 10-man Nantes as the French champions started the season with a trophy via the French Super Cup. The 2022 French Super Cup was contested by the winner of the French Ligue 1 (PSG) and the winner of the French Cup (Nantes).

In the first league game of the season, Neymar scored one of the goals as PSG thrash hosts Clermont Foot 5-0. For the second league game of the season, Neymar hit a brace to propel PSG to the 5-2 win over Montpellier at home while making him the leading goalscorer in the French Ligue 1. PSG made it three successive league wins at the start of this season with the 7-1 away win over AS Monaco. Just like what was obtainable with the Montpellier game, Neymar scored twice during the Monaco game to take his tally to five goals as he maintained his status as the leading goalscorer in the division.
On the Ligue 1 scoring chart, Neymar has one more goal than Frenchman KylianMbappe. Mbappe has four goals from his last two league games as he missed the opener against Clermont Foot. The likes of Lionel Messi (PSG) and Folarin Balogun (Reims) are on three goals each.
