Rivaldo urges Neymar to change attitude, should he make Barcelona comeback

Former Barcelona star Rivaldo has said that he would prefer Neymar making the comeback to Barcelona, though he may need to change the attitude on the playing field. The Brazil international left the Catalan giants to join Paris Saint-Germain in a world-record move two years ago, but there have been several occasions thereafter where he has been linked with a Camp Nou return.

The same has remained the case for this summer’s transfer window with Neymar said to hold an interest in returning to the Blaugrana and Rivaldo approves the move, provided his compatriot can change his recent attitude, he told Marca: “I would love for him to return [to Barcelona] and it would be very good for the team and for him. I hope he goes back, changes his mentality and starts playing football. If he returns, Barcelona will have a chance to win the Champions League and he will have a chance to become the best in the world.”

Neymar has suffered injuries during the backend of each of the previous two campaigns and that has hampered Paris Saint-Germain in the quest to make progress towards the Champions League crown. Despite this, they have regularly cited that Neymar would be staying put but recent reports have claimed that the attacker could go on an indefinite strike to force through an exit.

Nonetheless, he won’t come on the cheap for the Blaugrana with Les Parisiens likely to demand around £260m - £60m more than they paid to land his signature two years ago. A deal for Neymar could potentially witness the departure of Philippe Coutinho from the club’s ranks, considering the Brazilian has struggled to make a meaningful impact in the Spanish La Liga. The former Liverpool star managed just five goals for the Catalans during the recently-concluded campaign.
