Former footballer Rivaldo has said Barcelona should sign Neymar instead of Lautaro Martinez as it will help Lionel Messi take rest. The club have shown interest on signing Inter Milan striker Martinez as his performance at the club has been exceptional and he has scored 17 goals by appearing in 37 games. They missed the opportunity to sign him as his release clause at Inter ended last week but they are still hopeful that they can sign him in this summer.

If Argentinian player Martinez agrees to join the club, the chances of Neymar coming back to the club is most likely not to happen. Only last summer, the Brazilian player was close to joining the club but both PSG and Barca failed to reach any conclusion with the transfer deal. In 2020,the speculations regarding the transfer deal has again resurfaced. But Barcelona president Josep Bartomeu has said that with the financial constraints they will not be able to sign him in this summer.

But former Barca player Rivaldo suggests that Neymar should be brought back ask Inter can increase the value, Martinez, now and the Brazilian stands out as the best option for the value of money. He added That by bringing Neymar into the team the pressure on Messi’s shoulder will be eased down.
Rivaldo told Betfair that with the release clause of Martinez expired Inter will be looking forward to keeping him with the club and they can also demand more money than the current clause which is €111 million. “Leonardo might now be interested in negotiating the Brazilian star's move from PSG. I believe Neymar joining Lionel Messi would help Barcelona become again that sensational team that won many titles several years ago,” said Rivaldo.
Martinez is preparing for the match against Torino on Tuesday with Inter standing on the fourth position and Neymar is staying on the sidelines with the Ligue 1 suspended.
