Alex Ferguson and Wayne Rooney dont have Healthy Friendship
Sir Alex Ferguson might not have enjoyed a great relationship with Wayne Rooney in the last couple of years of his stint at Manchester United, but, the Scot still rates the striker very highly.
According to Ferguson, Rooney is one of those players who can shake the back of the net from nowhere.
Rooney was believed to have got so fed up of Ferguson in 2013 that he had asked the Manchester United top brass to let him go to some other club.
But, then, Ferguson walked away, announcing his retirement from management and that made Rooney think about staying there in the Manchester United camp.
Then, later on, David Moyes, one of Rooney’s closest people in the world of Football, took over and he, obviously, was able to convince the striker to put pen on paper for contract extension at Old Trafford.
Currently, Rooney is quite happy at United. He got the captaincy as well earlier this summer.
Rooney is in good form this season. He has not been playing at a position which he likes the most. He has been used slightly deep instead, but, he is not short of goals. With 6 goals, he is one of United’s leading scorers and to go with those 6 goals, there are 3 assists as well to his name.
Talking about Rooney the day before yesterday, Ferguson said, “Wayne is somebody who can find the goal at any point of time. He has got extraordinary skills when it comes to goal scoring. And, that’s why, the team, which he plays for, always has a huge advantage.”
Rooney has become the Premier League Champion 5 times with Manchester United so far. Once, he has won the European Cup as well. With so many trophies and more than 200 goals, he is already one of the club’s legends.
