Neymar wants more from perfect Paris Saint-Germain
Brazilian superstar Neymar has revealed his pleasure after Paris Saint-Germain’s recent league win at AS Monaco. The French champions have begun the current season in a record fashion with a 100 per cent record in their division and Neymar believes the team should continue in their merry ways following the international break.
Speaking after the 4-0 triumph at Monaco, Neymar was pleased to have found the scoresheet at Stade Louis II and reserved special praise for teammate Edinson Cavani, who bagged yet another hat-trick in his Paris Saint-Germain career, he said: “I'm very happy, happy for the goal and especially for the victory. Edi's hat-trick … not only him but we are also happy for him to have made the goals. He is our number nine.I hope that we can continue to play our part by winning the games and increasing the records more and more.”
Paris Saint-Germain cruised to the Ligue 1 title with a 13-point advantage over Monaco during the previous campaign and they have continued with the same vein of form this term. At present, Les Parisiens are already 13 points ahead of second-placed Lille on the table and they appear certain to retain the title for the second season running, barring a massive dip in form.
Meanwhile, “the Paris giants have not enjoyed a similar run in the Champions League“ and they have experienced just one victory from the four matches played. Thomas Tuchel’s men “are currently one point“captainbehind both Napoli and Liverpool in their group and they may have to beat both clubs to cement their position in the knockout stages.
Paris Saint-Germain have struggled to make progress in Europe over the years and they have only managed to reach the quarter-final stage since the Champions League was introduced. Les Parisiens have been ousted by Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively in the round of 16 stage over the past two seasons.
