Manchester United scored 3 Goals against Preston North End

Ander Herrera, MarouaneFellaini and Wayne Rooney all managed to find the back of the net as they scored goals against Preston North End in their FA Cup match which concluded with a final scoreboard of 3-1.

This victory has allowed Manchester United to advance into the next stages of the FA Cup where they will be facing off with Arsenal in the quarter-finals.

There was an incident which occurred in the match that still has people talking and it’s involving Wayne Rooney’s penalty kick at the last few minutes of the game. The German goal-keeper of Preston North End, Thorsten Stuckmann appeared to have brought down Wayne Rooney in the penalty box and the referee also believed it to be true as he allowed Manchester United on taking the set-piece which was scored by Rooney himself.

When the match was over, people started to doubt on whether or not Rooney had indeed been tackled to the grounds and television replays indicated that the Englishman made no contact with the German goal-keeper and Rooney had dived.

Thorsten Stuckmann stated that when the game ended Rooney went up to him and said sorry as he apologized for the dive which led to the last goal of the game.

Stuckmann said: "After the game Rooney told me: 'Sorry, it was my chance to get a penalty. I had to use that. I say it clear: That was no penalty. I also believe that if the situation had happened the other way around, one of our strikers against the United keeper, the ref wouldn't have given the penalty. I have no doubt about that.''

There does seem to be a dispute going on involving if whether or not United deserved the penalty kick. The coach of England, Roy Hodgson believes there was contact and the penalty was well awarded but the former Liverpool player Jamie Carragher said that it was a dive.

It doesn’t really make a difference at this point in time as Manchester United has already progressed into the next stages of the FA Cup where they will be facing off with Arsenal in March.
