BARCELONA MAKE CONTACT WITH NEYMAR
Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona have reportedly made initial contact with French Ligue 1 champions PSG and Neymar over the possibility of signing the Brazilian international this summer. This is according to the latest reports from Spain.
Neymar has been linked with a sensational return to Barcelona on several occasions. The Catalan giants have tried to re-sign Neymar since he left the club in 2017 for a world-record fee.
The report fromSpanish media outlet RAC1 revealed that the 29-year-old PSG attacker is the number one target at Barcelona this summer ahead of Borussia Dortmund striker ErlingHaaland. Norwegian international Haaland is the most sought after player on the European football scene and Barcelona are one of the many clubs interested in his services.
The otherteams interested in Haaland include Real Madrid, Manchester City, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Juventus.
Brazilian national team talisman Neymar is said to be interested in a return to Barcelona as per the abovementioned report and that he's ready to take a pay cut to make the move happen. Neymar is not ready to put any financial demands on the Catalan giants in the quest to play for the club once again. Barcelona have a debt of around €1bn and this means thatthe Spanish giants don't have all the money to spend on transfers.
Neymar spent four years at the Nou Camp between 2013 and 2017. He was part of the squad that won the Champions League title for the last time at Barcelona. The Spaniards are still waiting to break their Champions League drought spanning six years. The last Champions League title was at the end of the 2014/15 campaign. Barcelona beat Juventus 3-1 in the 2015 Champions League final to win the title.
