MESSI COUSIN GETS SPAIN DEAL

Lionel Messi's cousin has signed for Spanish second-division club Girona.

Girona says on its website that the 22-year-old Emmanuel Biancuchi has arrived from Munich 1860 for an undisclosed fee. The Argentine, who had been with the German club since 2008, plays in midfield.

Like Messi, Biancuchi also played for Newell's Old Boys in Argentina before leaving for Europe.

Messi, the Barcelona and Argentina forward, was recently voted FIFA's world player of the year for the second straight time.

Players:

ZLATAN CONFIDENT ON TITLE

AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is confident his club will be top of Serie A at the end of the season.

The Swedish striker scored as Milan beat relegation-threatened Cesena 2-0 on Sunday evening to maintain their four point lead over second-placed Napoli.

Defending champions Inter were beaten 3-1 by Udinese on Sunday, leaving them six points adrift of the top, and Ibrahimovic believes the title is in his side's hands.

RONALDO UPBEAT

Cristiano Ronaldo and Jose Mourinho were both keen to remain upbeat after Real Madrid suffered a potentially damaging defeat to Osasuna on Sunday evening.

Javier Camunas’ second-half winner condemned Real to a loss that sees them now seven points behind Barcelona at the top of La Liga. With their titles hopes suffering a severe setback, Mourinho and Ronaldo both faced the media after the match and attempted to maintain a positive outlook.
