After weeks of speculation, Rooney is sticking with Manchester United
It was rumored that the agent of Wayne Rooney, Paul Stretford had recently finished traveling to Asia as he was interested in the offers that were about to be launched for his client, Rooney.
Whether or not this is indeed true or confirmed is not really that important as the English attacker has already shut down the claims and links of him making a move to China.
A number of Asian clubs have been linked with the 31 year old forward including teams such as: Jiangsu Suning, Tianjin Quanjian and Guangzhou Evergrande. Football in Asia has been ever increasing in terms of growth as well as the money that is being spent in order to lure high-profile players to the Chinese Super League.
Demba Ba, Tim Cahill, Gervinho, FredyGuarin and AsamoahGyan are just some of the latest high-profile performers that have joined the Chinese Super League, so it wouldn’t be so surprising to see yet another well-known player joining this thriving league.
Unfortunately for all of those interested clubs, Wayne Rooney has made it clear that he will be staying in Manchester United for the foreseeable future as the experienced attacker said:
“Despite the interest which has been shown from other clubs, for which I’m grateful, I want to end recent speculation and say that I am staying at Man United. I hope I’ll play a full part in helping the team in its fight for success on four fronts. It’s an exciting time at the club and I want to remain a part of it.”
There is a realistic chance of seeing Wayne Rooney make a move away from Manchester United in the near future as he is currently 31 years old and age is certainly starting to take a toll on him but for a player that has been so influential in the Premier League club, fans would like to see him spend the remainder of his career in Old Trafford and not any other club.
